Wupperuferweg mit Ausblick

The landscape of the Wupper valley is extraordinarily beautiful. It is hard to imagine that there was once an intensively used commercial landscape here. Today the water is clean again and nature has recovered.

The Wupper is a river in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), which springs as Wipper at the Marienheider village Börlinghausen on the border with Meinerzhagen in Bergisches Land and in the city of Leverkusen between the districts Wiesdorf and Rheindorf after 116.5 kilometers of river and 400 good overcome altitudes (average gradient is 0.4%) flows into the Rhine. In some flat walk-in places you can go in good weather with your feet in the Wupper and refresh yourself. You also have a great view of the Müngstener bridge from the water.

The section between Solingen-Unterburg and the Müngsten Bridge is particularly beautiful and idyllic. You walk or cycle along the soft forest floor close to the Wupper. This enables a particularly natural experience of the river. In many places you have a direct view of the water from above. So also for photo lovers an experience.

The nature reserve Wupper and Wupperhänge with side depths (identification GL-046) is an approximately 228 hectare nature reserve in Leichlingen in the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, which was placed in 2004 for the first time under protection.

There are very beautiful hiking trails along the Wupper. Highly recommended!

As a highlight, I would call all the small streams to the right and left of the Wupper, which here make their way down the slopes.

The bridge over the Wupper at the Waldschänke am Wiesenkotten and the transporter bridge are a good circular route.

Nice quiet view and great Idyllic

The idyllic Wupperbrücke am Wiesenkotten is an important link between Brückenpark Müngsten and Unterburg for hikers and cyclists. At the end of 2017, she received new corrosion protection.

The bridge on the Waldschänke Wiesenkotten and the Schwebefähre in Müngstener bridge park allow at the end of the winder a circular route from lower castle on a Wupperseite to Müngstener bridge and on the other Wupperseite back.

Beautiful Old Bridge and also the only one far and wide!

Even in midsummer it is still shady and pleasantly cool here.

Sengbach dam and Wupperuferrunde very beautiful and expandable

In some places without paved paths...it's just fun :)
However, these points in the route can easily be avoided.
