A special landmark of the place is the famous "Ilmbacher Tor" (entrance of a farmstead) opposite the Catholic Church. It was once the gateway to the Ilmbach Carthusian Monastery (1423-1803), just a few kilometers west of Graefenneuse. This monastery was dissolved during the secularization in 1803 and released for demolition. Only the magnificent portal could be saved.
