The Sendenhof is one of four remaining Burgmannshöfen in Horstmar. Burgmannshöfe were once built in cities with the character of a fortress, mostly on or next to larger castles. The name Sendenhof goes back to the first known owner in 1366, Albert von Sende.

The Sendenhof is one of four surviving Burgmannshöfe in Horstmar and is located at the northern town gate. It has been a listed building since January 29, 1985 and is privately owned. Therefore, the farm is probably not open to the public. At least the gate was closed when we were there and there was no indication of any sightseeing opportunities. The designated cycle path leads through the adjoining city gate.
