The demolition of the Jackl Tower, also known as the "Lower Tower", which was badly damaged in the town fire in 1851, left a clear gap in the town square. The support association Alt-Traunstein, founded in 1983, managed to close it in 1999. After almost 150 years, the tower completes and enriches the cityscape again. Just a few meters from the Jacklturm, at the end of Hofgasse, there is a brewery museum worth seeing. It belongs to the Hofbräuhaus Traunstein, one of a total of three breweries in Traunstein – alongside Schnitzlbaumer and Wochinger.
