The large oak, also known as the thousand-year-old oak, stands about 500 meters west of Hexenagger, a district of the municipality in Altmannstein in the Eichstätt district, at about 430 meters above sea level. The oak is located right on the edge of the forest near a large field. The Ottersdorf homestead, which gives it its name, is about 250 meters southwest of it.
