Der Alsterwanderweg beginnt in Kayhude und folgt dem teils mäanderden Flusslauf bis zur Mündung in die Elbe. Diese Tour startet in Poppenbüttel und folgt dem südlichen Teil des Alsterwanderwegs bis zur Meenkwiese kurz vor dem Leinpfad. Im Alstertal lässt es sich im Sommer prima unter schattenspendenden Bäumen auf festen Wegen wandern. Erst ab der Fuhlsbütteler Schleuse, die nach ihrem Umbau heute ein Wehr ist, wird die Alster weit, die Wege breit und der Schatten rarer. Es ist das Stück, das einst Fritz Schumacher im Rahmen seines Stadtplans streng architektonisch mit Böschungsmauern, Terrassen, Becken und kleinen Parks gestalten ließ. Es war bei seiner Vorstellung umstritten, wurde aber realisiert. Dieser Abschnitt wird auch Alsterstreek genannt.

Der Dobersdorfer See ist neu für mich und ich bin ganz gespannt, was mich bei der Umrundung erwartet. Auch Kerstin, die in Preetz wohnt, kennt den See nur vom Vorbeifahren. Wie sich schnell zeigt, ist der Weg um den See zauberhaft und durchgehend super gepflegt. Auf halber Strecke kommen wir am beachtlichen Gut Dobersdorf vorbei. Und kurz darauf erfrischen wir uns an der Badestelle in Tökendorf im See. Das Wasser ist bereits herrlich temperiert. Allerdings hatte Kerstin da eine etwas andere Meinung. Das letzte Drittel der Wanderung führt etwas abseits des Sees entlang, ist aber ebenso schön. Eine gelungene Tour!
