Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung ist der kostenlose Parkplatz "Zur schönen Aussicht" auf der Bäk. Der Parkplatz trägt seinen Namen völlig zurecht, von dort hat man einen schönen Blick auf den Ratzeburger Dom samt Domsee. Die Tour überzeugt durch wenig Asphalt, viel Wald und Feld und noch mehr Seen: Ratzeburger Domsee, Mechower See, Lankower See, Garrensee, Plötschersee, Küchensee.

In Hamburg ist die wichtigste Station die Hauptkirche St. Jacobi, seit jeher ein Pilgerzentrum. Wir gehen die Hamburger Etappe in umgekehrte Richtung von Blankenese Richtung Hamburger Zentrum. St. Jacobi ist unser Ziel. Der Schlenker über die Elbe gehört eigentlich nicht zur Route. Es war das Ergebnis einer spontanen Eingebung.
