Today was our kick off to a ride across Ohio. Starting at the Ohio River and ending at Lake Erie. For this ride we knew it was going to be a challenge due the lack of training but here we go. This was going to be my first event but Chuck's 5th attempt.

Today, we took our adventure towards Cleveland. It was our first time riding the lakeshore on the east side of Cleveland. It was very easy for us to maneuver through downtown past the stadium, Science Center, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Kinda bike friendly, which was a surprise. Edgewater park

What a day, as we concluded our adventure in downtown Pittsburgh at Point State Park. The circle at 3 points notates the end of the GAP Trail. It's weird to transition from forest to an urban landscape with all the bridges. Pittsburgh is known as "the city of bridges," and we crossed a bunch today

We started the day making our way down to the trail from our Ohiopyle State Park tent ⛺️ site. The way down was very sketchy with little to no berm, down a windy road. Oh well, we made it safely!
Lot's of pics of the river as that was the highlight of this portion of the trail.
The break in our mileage

Easy day today, as we made our way through tunnels and the countryside. We followed the Youghiogheny river. Yikes however you say that river name.
We made our way to Ohiopyle State Park Kentuck Campground. We pushed our bikes .30 miles up a 35% grade gravel path. Not gonna lie, thought I was gonna

Today was a short day for mileage and some recovery from yesterday's ride. Today was 21 miles of climbing to reach the Eastern Continental Divide.
The Big Savage tunnel was neat. Didn't expect it to be so cold inside the tunnel. The views before the tunnel allowed us to see 4 states. Pennsylvania

What a day, marked with some highs and lows. Day started with beautiful weather as we followed the Potomac River. The weather turned to heavy rain towards the end of our ride, which impacted the trail to a muddy mess. Finishing in the dark.
Jodi's battery died with 10 miles left. I ended up towing

Today started with perfect weather and sun. However, the temperature really got hot!🔥 Thank goodness for the canopy that blocked most of the rays.
It's nice to see all the people on the river today.

Coming out of Washington, it was nice to see the resurfaced trail- smooth like butter! 🧈
As we passed, all the lock houses we joked on which one we would move into. Here's a few pics. Which one do you like? We did get caught in the rain that ended up moving out, thank goodness. BTW, I forgot how close

Started cold as the overnight temps got as low as 43 degrees as we camped at Alum Creek State Park. Pretty cool to see the full blood moon 🌙. Our awesome ride came to unfortunate end due to broken bracket on his bike rack. Luckily this happened 2 miles from our destination. And just like that our
