Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Planned by komoot
It is clear that the city of Weinsberg is located in the Württemberg wine country. As early as 1271, viticulture was first mentioned in this place. Reason enough to get to know the city and its surrounding region better during this hike. This 17-kilometer tour starts in Weinsberg and takes you up and down the vineyards. Beautiful views of the Neckar valley included. The pig mountain, the highest point on the hike, you reach at halftime. Then it's mostly downhill towards Heilbronn. You can plan a long break in the hunting lodge, in Heilbronn City Forest. There are many rest areas along the way. Be sure to pack enough water and sunscreen as the region is not called Swabian Tuscany for nothing.Incidentally, this year you can experience a thriving highlight in Heilbronn. From April 17 to October 6, the Federal Garden Show, short Buga, takes place on the banks of the Neckar. All information can be found here: buga2019.de.The starting point of the hike can be reached quickly from the Heilbronn train station. The S4 runs regularly towards Weinsberg or direction Öhringen Cappel. A trip costs 3.10 euros.
