Neckar and Neckarufer belong to the "green Heilbronn". The Freizeitpark Wertwiesen is located right on the river and the Neckarpark is being built in the middle of the city center. In 2019, one of the gates to the Federal Garden Show will also be here. A proverbial "green island" is the Horkheimer island between the old Neckar and the Neckar canal. Neckar promenades invite you to stroll in the city center, the paths along the river and the canal are equally popular with walkers, cyclists and inline skaters.
