From your accommodation in Bad Emstal-Sand you can reach the Habichtswaldsteig, which passes on the northern edge of the village, from the spa park via the extra tour H6. The route takes you for a few kilometers through remote and quiet landscapes with meadows, hut areas, forests and stream valleys. You finally reach the stallion meadow near Naumburg. This former wet meadow was dammed and now serves as a resting place for migratory birds and a breeding ground for water birds. If you like, you can walk a few more meters until you reach the viewing platform that appears to float (komoot.de/highlight/1263364). It will give you the fascinating feeling of being part of the water world. It continues through fields and meadows to the hill of the Altenstädter Warte. The watch tower is almost five meters high and can be climbed by a steel ladder to enjoy the fantastic view of the half-timbered town of Naumburg and the surrounding area. The waiting room is another fairy tale resting place, because the ladder to heaven beckons here, on which you get the feeling of floating above the beautiful landscape. On the descent to the small Elbe stream, you always have great views of Naumburg. Then you follow the stream, cross the L3214 and start the steep ascent to Weidelsburg. Once at the top, you stand in front of an imposing, largely well-preserved castle ruin. In the east tower you reach the viewing platform via a staircase, where a breathtaking view awaits you, in clear weather it even extends as far as the Kahler Asten in the Sauerland. On weekends and when the weather is good, a small kiosk is open here, the owners of which will be happy to provide you with drinks or a small picnic. The descent leads over steep serpentines and requires good surefootedness. You will pass an old basalt quarry at the foot of the mountain and finally the former knights' tournament ground. Then you get to the Old Forest, the largest contiguous forest area in the Habichtswald Nature Park, and hike for a long time in the shade of the large beeches until you come to the Naumburger Feldflur. There you will find the beautiful excursion restaurant Café Hasenacker. Attractively located on the Rehmbach, you can take a short break here before you hike the last section towards Burgberg Naumburg. The path over the Burgberg to Naumburg is well chosen, because from it you have many charming views of the old half-timbered town. In Naumburg you will find a good selection of accommodation, restaurants and shops.Today you kept walking along the rails of the Hessencourrier museum railway. The historic train runs regularly on Sundays from Kassel to Naumburg and not only offers passengers a special experience, but also an impressive spectacle for the spectators when the steaming lock with the attached wagons puffs past (hessencourrier.de/fahrplan /).
