The best part of this ride was riding the top of the dike between Oude -Tonge and Ooltgensplat. What's special about this particular dike, is the long straight alleys of old trees that line the dike on the land side. It is an uncomfortable feeling to see these trees loose their foliage, as if it were fall. It is not - it's just not raining.
That part of the profile was reconstructed manually because the app turned off for some reason.
I was going to say that I found it necessary to walk to the highest spot of this ride at ~12meters (left title picture, and also seen from a distance in the last picture) . It's the observation tower over Philipsdam, which divides saltwater from freshwater on a large shipping canal between the sea and Rotterdam. ... But actually, according to the profile there is a point a few meters higher, over the Voklerak ship-locks.
I was expecting a quite hot day. It was moderately hot, but most of the energy in the athmosphere turned to wind today, at this particular location.
