unless there is a battery problem you could also try running two different apps on the same phone , like komoot and gpslogger, and then compare the results. If they fail at the same place you know the problem is with a phone setting. if they fail at different places, it is probably because you inadvertantly

Well as I mentioned on this last day, Wahoo only recorded the first half of the day & Komoot only tracked the second half as a mostly straight line between two points which was not accurate. To see what route actually looked like for entire day see map below in photos. Total dstance was 20.5 miles in 2 hours 20 minutes. At no time did my speed reach 22 mph as we were bucking a stiff headwind out of the south from the time we left Wood River all the way into St.Louis. Avg. Speed was more like 8 mph.

Today is an exemplary instance of why I always like to have two navigation devices running simultaneously when riding unfamiliar routes. Wahoo recorded the first half of the day but not the second half. Komoot neglected to record the first half of the day but captured the second half.

Phil didn't want to do a 50 mile day to St. Louis so we spent the night here which worked out well. We found a cheap motel that was immaculate operated by Indian immigrants. Much less expensive than staying in St. Louis.

We were supposed to ride to St. Charles today but miscalculated lodging dates so we had to spend a night at a cheap motel in Washington across the Missouri River. The penalty we would pay for this mistake would be a 40 mile ride the next day in the rain to St. Charles when we could have used this sunny dry day to do the same.
