We arrived in Machynlleth via Train after lunch and grabbed supplies from Coop. The first part of the route was through farmland and forestry before heading up today's Mountain Terre Hendre. Very thankful for the dry ground as preexisting this could be boggy. Steep descent down the to top of the forest and the original snowdonia way route took you through some forestry which had been felled and there was no path so just had to hop over trees and mud.
Arrived in Abergynolwyn at the Railway Inn - had a pint and headed down the road to our campsite for the evening.
First part of out wales backpacking trip. The original plan was to hike the whole of the Snowdonia way but due to the heatwave, temps in the 30s, lack of water sources made this a 2 part hol.
