Out early to start in the slightly less hot temps! Actually lovely at the start. Got toaster but thankfully not 30°C+.
Still chasing an annoying grinding sounds under load. Drive chain was swapped earlier in the year, new BB, clean and lubed, this are torqued. Will try a new chain next.
Anyway, still awesome to get out and about. I was making good time and was ahead of the opening time for the café so thought I'd do a loop around some local roads. So glad I did because I bumped into my cycling brother of many rides and Way of the Roses, @Andrzej! Only stopped for a few minutes as we were on different rides but can't wait to meet back up with this guy. Top man.

Coming back through Notts I saw a cyclist on the ground who'd been hit by a car judging by the totalled windscreen. Hope everything was okay. The cyclist was sitting up. Hope the driver was okay too. I don't know the circumstances and didn't stop. Plenty of people on the scene and there's such a thing as too many people in these situations. Pretty sobering.
