Been sidelined with a cold over Christmas so it was nice to get out on the bike today given the dry, sunny, if cold weather. A great day out as well with @Gnarly Rebel taking in the blue and red trails at Sherwood Pines on the eMTBs, nowt as technical or challenging as, say, Dalby Forest but still a really enjoyable day. Nice cafe refuel, plenty of people out and surprisingly bone dry trails so even the bike came back clean which is a real bonus this time of year!

A grey old morning but nice to be out for a couple of hours to get used to the tweaks and the footbeds. All feels good so far. Signs of some dry bright weather in the forecast between Christmas and New Year so hopefully a chance to get out on something a bit longer. In the meantime, have a great Christmas!

I had my first pro bike fit yesterday at Sigma Sports where they basically dismantled my ride position and started again! The fit was mainly for a new road bike, as well as adapt my current bike as best as possible and its quite eye opening how the body gets used to bad positioning/habits. The changes feel good, not completely alien but it will take a few rides for the body to adapt again to the new, stronger more efficient position. For anybody who hasn’t had a bike fit, its well worth it.

Well worth the investment @Mark, knees stop hurting, shoulders stop aching and legs feel more purposeful.
A murky day for a ride though.

Starting off along the TPT/Leeds Country Way around RSPB St Aidans then on to the city centre to pick up the Leeds-Liverpool Canal out to Apperley Bridge. Leaving the canal, its up on a patchwork of trails and cycleways through Yeadon, onto Horsforth, through Beckett Park to join the Dales Way/Meanwood
