After cancelling a shared walk after noticing my cat looking unwell (he soon perked up, but too late) I needed a walk with plenty of departure options, so off to Chelmsford it was. I'd been looking at this area with the aim of getting out to Paper Mill lock at some point. I knew I wouldn't make it that far today, but going as far as I did while checking local bus options along the way had given me some ideas about how I could do that.
