Trail Reviews

During our short vacation in the Eifel we hiked the Wasserland Route today. Outdoor Magazin brought us on this tour. The path is perfectly signposted (in both directions) and partly follows the Eifelsteig, but also the wilderness trail. Start and finish in beautiful Einrur, after a very steep ascent it is mostly relaxed and close to the Rur or Urft. There was delicious cake about halfway along the Urft dam. Absolutely recommendable tour, despite intermittent rain showers and thunderstorms.

Water naturally plays a key role on this circular tour, as the name of the Eifelsteig partner trail suggests. Water and fantastic late summer weather naturally go together, and so today we head to the Eifel National Park for a leisurely circular walk. Although there are plenty of benches there inviting you to take a break, we made quite a quick 🏃🏃‍♀️, as all the benches with beautiful views were occupied. Well, we weren't the only ones who wanted to enjoy the ☀️... So we decided to take a break at one of the many restaurants - but everyone (really everyone!!!) only wanted cash 🪙. We weren't expecting that in this tourist region. Instead, we did end up with a delicious ice cream in Einruhr, opposite an ATM 💰 at the bus stop.

Simply amazing ☺️🙌🤩. I'm talking about the walk, of course 🙄. There's everything: climbs and therefore descents 😳, beautiful paths, paths with roots, paths with stones and, above all.... magnificent landscapes 🤩. I really recommend it 😍

Wow...... what views we were able to enjoy today😍...... and since I love water in all its facets, my absolute favorite tour of this vacation

Green slopes, crystal-clear water, blue-white skies And that's the entire stretch of the Waterland Route around the upper lake of the Rur Dam, starting from Einruhr in the Northern Eifel. Eifelfjords is another description often given to the area around the Rur and Urft lakes. Let the Norway experts judge... The absence of narrow paths doesn't detract from the route, because the views and lake vistas are so incredibly beautiful. Thanks to Kerstin from the Wanderratten! (Small marking error at km 14 - but always along the shore)

What a great hiking day the tour is just amazing. The eyes just couldn't get enough of the beautiful nature 😊😉

Another partner trail of the Eifelsteig, which, as the name suggests, mostly follows the water. A stop at the restaurant at the Urft Dam is always worthwhile.

We parked in a parking lot directly in Einruhr. Since we were very early, no problem. It had rained a bit and still looked very gray on gray. But after the two climbs we were warm and the weather got better and better. We had beautiful views of Einruhr. The path has many benches and was easy to walk. On the way we saw traces of beavers (?) and lots of water. The boat “Seensucht” passed us several times and was always better staffed. The tour could have been shortened with a boat trip, but we didn't want that. Delicious rest after the dam, where you could also have stopped. Back in Einruhr we had an iced cocoa and ended the beautiful day @Andreas 🏳️‍🌈 there was no need to advise anything :) @shanti You have also been on many paths. The dam reminded me more of Fallout New Vegas ;)
