A wonderful path! Even in winter, when it's freezing cold, it's very beautiful there!

Wittmoor Nature Reserve

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Wittmoor is a paradise for walkers and nature lovers. Moor, heath, forests and pastures are well developed with hiking trails. An insider tip all year round. Only after long rain not recommended.

It is rustling and gurgling ... the water is so shallow that the children can easily build their dams and in suitable weather, the big ones can sit on a log and spend a few quiet minutes.

I've done this tour several times now: drove to Ohlstedt by car, hiked to Locks in Poppenbüttel and ate lunch. Then walked on to Ohlsdorf and back to Ohlstedt by train. 😎

Upper Alster Trail

Highlight • Trail

There is not much to hear from the city noise here. The Alsterwanderweg winds to the left, sometimes to the right of the Alster he leads directly into the center of Hamburg.

April 19, 2026,Ein Spaziergang durch die schönste Stadt der Welt ⚓️ (part II)
🌿 Today I did a really beautiful round starting from Poppenbüttel: started through the Alstertal, passed the quiet Kupferteich 💧, then enjoyed the vastness and silence in the Wittmoor 🌾
Via Duvenstedt, it continued into the fantastic Rodenbeker Quellenthal – small streams, dense forest, simply magical ✨🌳
Perfect mix of water, moor, and forest – exactly what I needed 🙌🥾

Today I hiked through the Wittmoor to the Rodenbekerquelltal and along the Alster hiking trail. A nice varied round. Worth hiking

Sun ☀️ = Off to nature 🥾

The starting point is the final stop in Poppenbüttel.

After just a few meters it goes into the green 🌳

A route that I will definitely run again in spring 🌱 or summer 😎.

October showed its best side again today. The weather was perfect for a lovely hike close to home. It was my first time at Wittmoor, and it certainly won't be my last.

Although some streets end with "Barg" at the Panzerberg, which means mountain, I could hardly find any elevations worth mentioning. The Mellingburg is also only on a small hill, …
