About Nick

After a short detour through the city center (lots of shopping, the town hall, and the Christmas market), I headed to my actual destinations.
In spring and summer, the viewpoints at the vineyard and the "Schöne Aussicht" (Beautiful View) must be wonderful places to linger. I can already picture myself

...and then Molli came 😃.
In glorious weather ☀️, we took the Molli train from Bad Doberan to Heiligendamm, where the beach 🏖️ is just a few minutes' walk away. A stroll across the viewing bridge is a must, of course 😎.
I took a quick detour into the wonderful forest, which shortly afterwards led to

The most important question: Can you cycle the Heidschnuckenweg? Yes,.....
...but the Heidschnuckenweg often (almost always!) leads along natural and very narrow paths, some of which are unsuitable for cycling. See below for more information 👇🏼.
For bikers, a hiking trail of this type means:

EuroVelo 13 – also known as the German Green Belt – is a long-distance cycle route along the former inner-German border. This route is 135 km long in its original length and has almost identical elevation gain.
I've expanded the "Green Belt" to include a bit more greenery and a bit less country road

I wanted to see this beautiful city again. This time without the hustle and bustle and without the many other tourists. I think I managed that quite well.

The Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe is a must-see when you're in Kassel, and I can quickly explain why:
- No matter the weather, there's always something to admire here 🤩
- The aqueduct is a real eye-catcher, even without the waterfall.
- The Devil's Bridge is a scenic dream.
- The climb to the Hercules Monument
