The name Zutphen derives from Zuid-venne, a complex of river dunes amidst marshy meadows.
If you look closely, Zutphen boasts dozens of towers, but the most striking and well-known are St. Walburgis Church, Wijnhuistoren (Wine House Tower), St. John's Church, Broederenkerk (Brothers' Church), and Water Tower.
