The quiet, picturesque coastal road linking Morlaix to Locquénolé offers splendid panoramas of the La Rivière de Morlaix canal. The photos were taken during low tide, but at high tide the spectacle promises to be even more captivating.

Notre-Dame du Kreisker Chapel

Highlight • Historical Site

The chapel is renowned for its beautiful bell tower** It was modeled on the tower of the Eglise St-Pierre in Caen, the granite version from Brittany even surpassing the model. Even Vauban was delighted with this "marvel of poise and audacity". The upper part with the spire is in Norman style, the lower part with the diamond pattern of the window crosses and the overhanging balcony reflects the influence of the so-called perpendicular style, late English Gothic.
The interior is largely closed off by a wooden barrel vault. The only stone vault connects the four huge piers in the crossing that support the tower.
The tower can be climbed (169 steps). From the platform, a beautiful view of the city, the île de Batz, the coast and the Monts d'Arrée unfolds.

Now there's no turning back...⤵️

...Sitting on the ferry to Plymouth.

This morning at 9:00 AM, I left Morlaix and cycled the 30 km leisurely to Roscoff.

Sometimes along the coast, sometimes further inland. I found Saint-Pol-le-Leon quite pleasant and was really positively surprised by Roscoff.

I had somehow imagined the town with its ferry terminal to be more desolate.
