Tour route along below the Mahlberg to the Mönchkopfsattel, from here we take the border path past the old customs station (between Baden and Württenberg) up to the Bernstein.

Since I had an appointment this morning, I took the day off and was able to do this lovely autumn hike this afternoon.

I had actually planned to go to Kaltenbronn and enjoy a pancake at the Grünhütte, but just in time, I discovered they were closed for vacation.

I'm sure some of you will recognize this situation 😉.

@Klaus S. invited us on a tour.
The atmosphere and weather were perfect.

We went to the Mahlberg Tower, the hang-gliding meadow, Bernstein, and Mönchshof for dinner.

It was a wonderful day with friends, great conversations, and lots of fun and joie de vivre.

CONCLUSION:
Klaus, you did a great job 👍😉

We started at the free hiking parking lot at the cemetery in Freiolsheim.

Following the French Trail, which really warmed us up 😅, we reached the Mahlberg (612m), climbed the Karlsruhe Tower, and enjoyed the panoramic view.
