The Tiefwarensee is only separated from the Müritz by a land bridge around 300 metres wide.
The lake has also developed into a popular local recreation area with canoe and boat rentals and the possibility of fishing due to its location. Windsurfing and motorboats are prohibited, however. The Tiefwarensee Ice Age educational trail, which is around ten kilometres long, runs around the water, which is part of the Torgelower See nature reserve and can be completed on foot or by bike.

Then I managed to see last year's winner as the new winner. 620 swimmers started on the opposite side of the Müritz. …
