With temperatures still pleasant, we consciously set off early, right from our hotel. Past Stade, we ride on narrow asphalt paths along the railway tracks, already passing through the first apple orchards into the "Alte Land" (Old Land). On 10,700 hectares, mainly apples (77%), cherries (12.7%), pears, and other fruits ripen here.
