View of Seealpsee from the East

Highlight • Viewpoint

The view from this point into the heart of Alpstein (on the Seealpsee with Ageteplatte, Säntis, Hängeten, Altenalptowers and Schäfler) is beautiful. When you start a hike in Alpstein past the Seealpsee, this view is always a wonderful start and your heart starts to beat faster.
On the way back I stop here again and again and take a wistful look back into the Alpstein and look forward to the next time ... and tackle the way back through the hut hut with beautiful memories from the previous day 😊.

Highlight • Lake

Beautiful mountain lake in the middle of the Alpstein, with a panorama that couldn't have been created better on the computer. Free-roaming cows, bright green sparkling water, cheese dairy, alphorn players... what more could you want?

From the Seealpsee to the Berggasthaus Aescher there are approx. 320 vertical meters that you have to master. The path is well developed and has safety ropes. They would not actually be necessary, but the way is a very touristy way. Many people / holiday guests take the gondola to Ebenalp and then hike through the cave to the Aescher mountain inn and then further down this mountain hiking trail to the Seealpsee. You can see many with normal sneakers and therefore the safety ropes are then attached again. Accidents also happen here and there have been fatal accidents. The path is actually easy and nowhere particularly narrow, but maybe it is precisely because you are not paying enough attention and maybe too deeply involved in the discussions.
I like the way myself very much, but personally there are definitely too many people here in the main season and if you have to walk behind tens of people during the "peak times", I don't like it at all. During the week and outside of the holiday season, this path is absolutely recommended and a visit to the Berggasthaus Aescher and also to the Seealpsee is definitely an impressive and very worthwhile experience.

In my opinion, it is not magnificent, the view is simply breathtaking.
When the weather is clear, you can see as far as Lake Constance.
The landscape is small and playful like on a model train in front of you.

My Komoot friend and work colleague Melchior came up with the idea for the tour, although everyone had predicted bad weather
it was 3pm and we were back at the car.

Very nice hike with incredibly beautiful impressions. However, very good physical condition is required. The paths themselves are very easy to walk.

A very nice hike. Seealpsee is always beautiful anyway - the climb to Äscher is bumpy, but doable. Of course, a stop for refreshments at the top was a must. You can go down either by cable car or on foot. Unfortunately, the forest path was very slippery due to the rain the day before. So if you're not sure-footed …

Years of planning, the second attempt and finally the time had come. Before sunrise, my son Benedikt and I set off for Wasserauen in Switzerland. The mountains around us were reflected in the clear Seealpsee, a sight that thrilled us. After a short chocolate break, we continued our hike up to the Äscher. There, the legendary Gasthaus Äscher, built directly …

The initial escalation in the parking lot when we woke up at 9 a.m. shocked us a bit.

We arrived in the evening and everything was empty and in the morning from 10 a.m. they even started to open up all of the meadows as parking spaces in the back area.

Today we went from Wasserauen on a steep but wonderfully shady forest path up to the famous mountain inn Aescher, detour to the Wildkirchli and the hermit caves, on to the idyllic Seealpsee and through the Hüttentobel back to the starting point.
A fantastically beautiful tour with many highlights! 😍
Absolutely recommendable 👍

Tour on Alpstein's easy "tourist trails". The safety ropes on this route are still installed and there was nowhere much snow, if the wet areas are freezing, you may need to be careful in the next few days, but today the paths were all easily accessible

Most beautiful sunshine over the sea of fog. The climb was really worth it.
