Dieser Berg hat etwas Beruhigendes an sich. Hier oben ist es so still. So langsam. So friedlich.
Like last week, I started again on the Hochgrat today. This time it went in the other direction. The ridge path led over the Brunnenauscharte to the Rindalpkopf and then in a wide arc back into the valley.A wonderful tour, but today it was very windy and cold. A very special atmosphere through the clouds and the sun that kept coming through.

I saved myself the ascent today and took the Hochgratbahn up. All in all, a wonderful ridge hike from the Hochgrat via Seelekopf, Einguntkopf, the Falken to Hochhäderich. In the beginning there were a lot of hikers on the way. From the junction to the Falkenhütte it got quieter. The path to Hochhäderich is advertised for experienced hikers with a head for heights and alpine experience. That is a good thing. Exciting climbing passages and sections along the ridge are not without, but are a lot of fun. If you don't want to walk this section, you can turn right in front of the Falken and walk back into the valley via the Falkenhütte.
From the summit of the Hochhäderich to the parking lot at the valley station of the Hochgratbahn, the path is very leisurely and leads past several great highlights such as Lake Hörmoos or an ancient sycamore maple.
What a mega nice tour!

After a long break from hiking, I used the wonderful weather today for a beautiful hike from Scheidegg through the Rickenbachfurt to Möggers.
The part of the path between the Rickenbach waterfall and the Hasenreuter waterfall is no longer an officially maintained hiking trail. The paths are partly overgrown and difficult to see, the wooden bridges are rotten and overgrown with moss. Sometimes it goes through mud and water. Nevertheless, or perhaps because of it, a great and above all adventurous route. The waterfalls are definitely worth it. However, good, waterproof shoes are a must.
The rest of the tour leads over comfortable, wide forest and meadow paths. Overall, a nice, recommendable round.

I took over this tour from HAm. Thank you, Heike, for sharing. Your enthusiastic description of "an absolute hiking dream" made me curious ... 😉😊I also didn't know the Steigbachtal below the Nagelfluhkette before. The landscape is beautiful, and also wonderfully quiet. I was almost alone today. Only the large proportion of paved roads and gravel paths I didn't like that much.

Today we went with the best hiking weather past the Zipfelsbach waterfall on great root paths to the Bschießer, further over Gütle on the Ponten and over Zierleseck and the Willersalpe back to Hinterstein. It doesn't take many words to describe this tour. It couldn't be nicer! 😉😍

Our last tour in Saxon Switzerland led us through narrow crevices, over stairs and ladders on adventurous paths between gigantic boulders through to the Gohrisch and the Pfaffenstein. We are enthusiastic about the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and can only recommend it to everyone to go hiking there. It's unbelievable what nature has to offer there 👍😊

What a blast! We are absolutely thrilled with this area. A very recommendable round. So many highlights, unique rock formations, breathtaking viewpoints and wild paths and trails. Simply indescribable 👍😊Strangely, my recording with a Samsung cell phone shows 15.6 km with 440 meters of altitude and Mayk has, according to his iPhone display, made a total of 20.1 km with 680 meters of altitude. But it was exactly the same tour. In the past, too, we had serious differences in the recording from time to time. Do you know this problem? It's a shame that there is no reliable display on komoot.

Today we did our first tour in Saxon Switzerland. After days of heat and lots of sun, today we had almost continuous rain and gray skies. The view from the Königstein Fortress was unfortunately not as good as we had imagined. It was positive, however, that very few people were on the road.
Königstein is one of the largest fortifications in Europe. Very impressive and absolutely worth seeing.
