Erlensee

Highlight • Lake

The Erlensee has an island. And the birds breed on the island. At the beginning of the Erlensee there is a kiosk where you can linger and have something to eat and drink.

March 6, 2022,Pfungstädter Moor - Erlensee
Nice cozy round with good
Rest area possibility at the kiosk Erlensee

The Erlensee, we've never been there. I only know the name from a parking lot on the A67.

Today was the day and it's worth it!👌
Beautiful circular route, mostly with a view of the Erlensee and the moor lakes.

The kiosk is open daily and offers something for every taste.
You eat inside or outside, just as you like.

Short, flat, mostly shady, and still early enough in spring to avoid the bathers and nudes at Erlensee... (one bank plus the "beach" on the kiosk side are for swimming, bathing, and sunbathing, while the other bank is reserved for anglers)...

I actually wanted to go on the tour with @Tanja & Hamlet🐶 mit Luna im ❤️en. I couldn't get the tour out of my head, she had planned 8 km, and so we set off without her😅. I shortened it to Mischka needs.
Hmm, what can I say. The landscape is very beautiful and the path portion is really great. …

At 3 p.m. we are invited for coffee in Langen, at 9 p.m. our daughters' plane lands in Frankfurt - and until then there is enough time to visit new destinations along the way.
Our first tour takes us to the Erlensee near Pfungstadt - many thanks to Rita 🫶. The mostly shady path is pleasant to walk and you …

The tour is actually shorter, but because of the wildlife protection fence because of the African swine fever I had to use other routes, so it is 8.01km instead of 5.38km. In spring/summer you can probably see more than you can now.

Quite a nice little walk. The landscape is beautiful.
At the beginning or at the end you can get something to eat at the kiosk. It tastes good and is affordable. There is pizza, schnitzel or feta cheese with or without gratin...
There is a fee for parking and it costs €3.

All the birches are green in the moor and heath.

All the birches are green in the moor and heath.

Every birch bush shines like gold.

All the heath larks are jubilant;

Every black grouse hoots and frolics.

My eyes wander here and there
Over the black, white-flaky moor,
Over the brown, green-shimmering heath,
And rise up to heaven.
