Nice view of the Stone Woman. Unfortunately, the view from the sign is somewhat obscured by the trees. If you walk a few meters to the left, you can see it much better

The Walberla always works... it's about time for a sunrise tour...

The Walberla is one of my childhood mountains. Our East Prussian relatives lived in Ermreus, a small village below the mountain. I could understand East Prussian, but there were major language problems with the natives, called Franconians. Now, more than 60 years later, the regional dialects are disappearing more and more and there are only milder dialects left.

After yesterday's rainy day 🌧️🌧️🌧️, today we're heading from Kirchehrenbach to the Holy Mountain of the Franconians, the 513 m high Walberla (Ehrenbück).
The trail is easy and quickly leads us up to the plateau between Walberla and Rodenstein at 532 m. The view of the surrounding area is fantastic.

The hike starts in Schlaifhausen and initially leads towards Rodenstein, a striking vantage point that offers a wonderful view over Franconian Switzerland. From there it continues to Walberla, the landmark of the region. On the plateau you can enjoy wide views and discover the typical flora and fauna of the area. The path then leads down to Leutenbach, a picturesque …

The Walberla frame was really super nice with great weather. Magnificent views in every direction. The Roodenstein, which is right next door, should also be hiked. You walk down from the Walberla and up again on the other side.

A wonderful circular route around and to Walberla and Rodenstein. The starting and finishing point is a hiking car park near Schlaifhausen.

The WORLD is full of beautiful things & it really needs someone to find them! 🫶

Wonderful round with great views through a varied landscape. Many information boards offer insights into flora and fauna as well as the economic use of the forest, for example. Surefootedness is required, especially in the last part of the hike before the loop closes at the Walburgi Chapel. This part can be replaced by convenient, wider alternative routes.
