On this small wooden bridge, the towpath on the Finow Canal crosses the breakthrough (officially the Mäckersee Canal), which also flows into the Finow Canal here. According to the sign, bicycles should actually be pushed, but that doesn't happen 🚵‍♀️🚴‍♀️🙂.

Finow Canal Towpath

Highlight • Trail

A very nice cycling and hiking trail along the Finow Canal. Very interesting are also the historic locks along the canal and a number of industrial monuments.

The footpath on the south bank, opposite the well-known asphalted towpath, takes you along a rather wild wetland.
In one area you can see that the dam of an old canal arch is still visible, but its course was cut off at some point when the waterway was straightened. The old linden trees there (pictures 5+8) are sooo cool.
