The forest was a bit swampy.

The municipality of Obdam had the then town hall renovated in 1832. That town hall housed not only the municipal council, but also the polder council and the primary school. The head teacher also had his home and schoolroom there since 1834. In 1873 the municipality decided to have the old town hall replaced by a new building. The reason for new construction is not known, but it is known that councilor J.J. Haarselhorst was a big supporter. The foundation stone of the new building was laid on March 27, 1874.[2] Haarselhorst ordered a clock to be installed on the facade and a clock to strike the hours on the roof. The town hall was completed on April 23, 1875.[2] The building was also used as a polder house.[3] The government of the Obdam polder paid half of the construction costs,[2] so that it could also use the town hall.

The Obdammermolen is a polder mill, built in 1698. It is an octagonal inner porter. The mill is currently inhabited.

From 1875 to 2008 this building was the Raadhuis/Polderhuis in Obdam. It has been a national monument since 1996.

The boundary marker marks the boundary between 2 jurisdictions. The pole was placed in 1835 and has been a national monument since 1971. At the front of the pole is Obdam's coat of arms.
