Worth a visit during the Christmas season

The buoy tender "Hildegard", a museum ship from the North Frisian Maritime Museum, is moored on the old slipway at the new town hall. From here, the perspectives are presented in a completely different light and interesting images of the ship and the harbor can be captured. And you can also learn something about the ship from 1907 from the information board. The slipway is accessible at any time, regardless of the museum's opening hours.

Renamed "Hildegard". In service for laying buoys from Hallig Gröde to the Danish border 1978 decommissioned, 2000 sold to the North Frisian Maritime Museum. It's impressive and frightening when you see directly on site how high the water can actually rise and will certainly rise again at some point in the future. Unfortunately it is only a matter of time. Hopefully it will be a long time before it happens again and hopefully everyone here will be safe.

The historic town hall, built in 1601, is a listed cultural monument and is at the heart of Husum's town history. The Husum Tourist Information is currently located on the ground floor. Over time, several restorations and renovations have been carried out, which have been adapted to the needs of the time. The main entrance is on Großstraße, directly on Husum's market square. There is a second, barrier-free entrance in the castle corridor. In the basement of the old town hall, the Ratskeller Husum is a restaurant in an impressive historical setting. The core of the old town hall in Husum was designed by the architect Peter van Mastricht and built in 1601. In 1702, the open staircase was built and the roof turret was added. Renovation work took place in the second half of the 19th century and in the last quarter of the 20th century, among other places. In the immediate vicinity of the old town hall, two stately town houses stand out, whose common brick street front was designed as a semi-detached house in the late 16th century. The 34 half-reliefs of heads made of limestone and sandstone at the house "Markt 3" are said to show the heads of rebels who were executed after a rebellion against the Danish krone.
