The 155 hectare Immenstedter Forest is one of the larger closed acidic beech and oak forests on the Bredstedt-Husumer Geest with a typical natural combination of species. The central part with old wood stocks, valuable dead wood parts and near-natural forest inner edges is particularly worthy of protection and was declared an FFH area by the EU in 2008.
