The Rimmelsberg Dune is a small, seven-hectare dune area in the Schleswig-Holstein municipality of Jörl. It has been protected since 1938 under designation number 24. The nature reserve consists of undulating, hilly terrain, home to numerous juniper bushes and surrounded by oak groves. With its heaths and dunes and one of the largest juniper stands in Schleswig-Holstein, it represents a unique feature in the otherwise intensively cultivated agricultural landscape. The name Rimmelsberg itself derives from the Danish rimme (Old Norse rimi), meaning a row of dunes or a mound of earth.

The nature reserve, which is only 7 hectares in size, is considered a gem. It consists of undulating terrain with numerous juniper bushes and is surrounded by oak groves. With its heaths and dunes and one of the largest juniper stands in Schleswig-Holstein, it is a special place.

Beautiful Evangelical Lutheran church in the heart of Hattstedt with an interesting history. Theodor Storm already knew this church because he attended the Husum School of Letters during his lifetime with the son of the pastor at the time. The impressive church tower in particular was mentioned several times in Storm's works. There are also gravestones of former dike reeves on the cemetery grounds.

To this day, coastal ship captains use the white-painted south side of the Hattstedt church as a guide. The church was also an important landmark for the poet Theodor Storm: he often describes the church in his works. He married his second wife, Dorothea Jensen, in the garden of the so-called Kompastorat in Hattstedt in 1866. The dike master Johann Iwersen-Schmidt, Theodor Storm's model for the character Tede Volkert from the novella "The Rider on the White Horse", is buried in the churchyard.

The fire hydrant became a symbol through the design of the memorial. Its remains represent the arbitrariness with which SS men and some Kapos beat and tortured the concentration camp prisoners. They used the fire hydrant to mistreat the prisoners: the men were tied to the metal column while soaking wet or had to sit on the cover of the fire hydrant (which is now missing) and remain there. The concentration camp prisoners were subjected to numerous other forms of harassment and punishment.
