Boom! Husum has been an important place for the cattle trade via the Ochsenweg system since the Middle Ages. From the middle of the 19th century everything took on a new dimension. England rose to become the first industrial power. The new army of workers had to be fed. British bankers and shipping companies now imported cattle and sheep by the thousands, mainly via Tönning. The main trade was in Husum.

Nice harbor for strolling and looking at shrimp rolls or Friesentorte. The selection is huge and the view over the harbor with the beautiful houses has a maritime effect.
