The refuge is easy to reach even in bad weather, well-organized, and offers truly excellent food! Compliments for the venison taragna and the pumpkin, cheese, and mushroom roll. The view of Lake Fregabolgia and Lake Rotondo and the most beautiful peaks like the Diavoli and Madonnino is spectacular.

Excellent bivouac that also allows people to rest thanks to 6 bunk beds. Inside there is also a table with a couple of chairs where you can eat in the shade. All around the bivouac there are large stones that can be used as a bench. For animal lovers I recommend making little noise as in the area it is very easy to see wild ibex wandering around the bivouac

As a possible alternative to the usual uphill route to the Calvi Refuge, I recommend proceeding to the right, fording the stream and following the path that leads to Lake Zelto, then continuing following the numerous cairns to Lake Cabianca (EE section, it is also useful to follow the GPS track). From Lake Cabianca onwards, the path is mapped by CAI and you follow the white-red markers to Lake dei Curiosi.

Excellent point especially to recover some water. Until the Calvi refuge you will no longer be able to find any, which is definitely useful
