The Westensee Nature Park lies between Kiel, Rendsburg, and Neumünster. Nestled amidst the region's typical hedgerow landscape, you'll find babbling brooks, tranquil lakes, refreshing forests, and expansive meadows. The Großer Schierensee is a lake in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, northwest of the town of Schierensee. The lake is approximately 50 hectares in size and up to 11.7 m deep. It is described by the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of the Environment as a calcareous, stratified lowland lake with a relatively large catchment area.[1] The stratified lake belongs to the Obereider and Kiel Canal water systems.

Amidst this magnificent natural setting, in a typical Holstein landscape, you'll find babbling streams and rivers, tranquil lakes, refreshing forests, green meadows, and small fields. This mosaic of small landscapes is ideal for individual experiences.
