シュュルプの木造船建造 かつてシュュルプが木造船建造の地であったことを、今日ではほとんど何も思い出させません。現在のティンメルバールには、クリスティアン・モーアの造船所がありました。1779年9月29日、そこで最後の船が完成しました。それは、当時典型的な貨物船タイプであった、長さ約62フィートのコユッチ船でした。 特に才能ある職人として評価されていた船大工のハンス・フラームが重要な役割を果たしました。船の完成後、彼は造船所所有者のクリスティアン・モーアによってニュッベルに推薦され、そこで後に大きな名声を得ました。この推薦は、シュュルプの造船所が同年中に操業を停止したことを示唆するものとも考えられています。 理由としては、シュュルプが水路から切り離されることになる、建設が迫っていた北海・バルト海運河（Kanal）が考えられます。造船所がいつ設立されたかは記録されていません。しかし、専門知識の存在と最後の船の大きさから、1759年頃に設立され、約20年間存続したと推定されています。

Wooden ships were built in Schülp between approximately 1759 and 1779. The last, a "Cojüt ship," was built at the Christian Mohr shipyard under the direction of Hans Bock and Hans Frahm. Shipbuilding in Schülp ended with the construction of the Schleswig-Holstein Canal.

The "Alte Landsknecht" - once an inn - is a historic half-timbered house from 1541 with an artistically carved facade. In 1951 it was rebuilt while retaining the original facade and later converted into a residential building. Today it is a listed building on Schleifmühlenstraße and a well-known landmark in the city.

This tour went south of the Kiel Canal, mostly through forest and fields - but near Brammer I got really confused by the very rough terrain (sometimes I had to push) in the fenced-in area of a large stud farm (despite the satnav or because of it) - I walked along the fence several times and couldn't get out properly. I also failed at the closed gate and ended up going back the same way (which I really don't like doing). But it was fun - because for me the journey is always the destination....
