The western shore of Lake Einfelder is indeed very beautiful and well worth hiking on.

On the western side of the lake is a beautiful nature reserve. You can enjoy a pleasant walk along the shore on the hiking trail, which also leads into the forest in some sections. It's a great place to hike around the lake or even combine it with a hike to Lake Bordesholm.

Here at the lake there's a large lawn for sunbathing, some exercise equipment, a playground, and a very small swimming area. I was here in winter. It's quite possible that swimming isn't allowed and that it's more for dogs.

There are many piers along the water here. Most of them are off-limits. You need to be aware of that.

Einfelder See is a must!

There's a drinking water dispenser here. It's made of stainless steel; you could walk right past it. It was very useful today...

The route is not designed as a cycling route, and bicycles are prohibited in some areas. The majority of it is open only to bicycles, not e-bikes.

The nature reserve at Lake Einfeld is home to around 25 species of breeding birds, including robins, sparrowhawks and great crested grebes, as well as numerous water birds such as moorhens, moorhens and mute swans. In winter, tufted ducks, pochards and the occasional kingfisher can also be seen, while cormorants and sea eagles fly by as guests.
