The Prüm event and conference center is part of the Eifel youth hostel and offers modern rooms for conferences and events. There are five smaller rooms (10-50 people) and a large conference hall (up to 500 people) with variable rooms, a stage and modern technology. WiFi is free, and full board is available. The Wendelshäuschen in Prüm is a historic building with religious significance. It was built in 1840 in honor of Saint Wendel, who is considered the patron saint of fields and livestock. It used to be the starting point of the traditional jumping procession. On the back of the building is a coat of arms stone of the last Prüm abbot, Christoph von Manderscheid, who worked from 1546 to 1576. This small chapel is a cultural monument of the region and commemorates the deeply rooted traditions and religious customs in the Eifel. Adjacent is a memorial dedicated to the victims of the two world wars. On Remembrance Day, commemorations are held there to commemorate the fallen.

The entire hiking route was connected to the river Prüm, sometimes further away, or right next to us.

From here you can start the approximately 7km long "Westwallweg". There are many free parking spaces available here. The blown-up bunkers are partly covered with earth, but in many cases the rubble and parts of the bunkers are still clearly visible. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate is responsible for the traffic safety of the monuments and has secured them with fences. Please do not climb over the fences; there is a considerable risk of injury and the flora and fauna will be significantly disturbed.

Many tours into the Schneifel can be started from the Schwarzer Mann car park.

From this parking lot you can start several different hikes or enjoy delicious food in the Schwarzer Mann log cabin.
