Nestled between the forest and the roots lies this historic relic from a dark age: the Katzenkopf Panzerwerk (Katzenkopf Tank Fortifications), once part of the West Wall, now a silent witness to past conflicts. An impressive memorial cross rises from the moss-covered roof – clearly visible above the bunker walls. The plaque at the entrance reminds us how quickly technology can be used for destruction.
