It is better to start the route via the steep climb and then descend via the flatter side.

Beautiful panoramic tour, simple but not banal

As a memorial to the many dead, such monuments or war memorials - like this "Monumento ai caduti" in _ - are still very important today. "Now, Lord, you let your servant depart in peace, as you have said..." says the so-called "Hymn of Simeon" (Luke's Gospel, chapter 2, verse 29). The people who are remembered here, however, did not depart in peace, but became victims of war and tyranny. Many of these monuments that one encounters on the way are a testimony - still significant and current today - to the horror of war and tyranny. They all have two essential functions, and this for each generation anew: -1- Commemorate and remember the victims -2- Remind people to keep the peace

Last km on dirt road with gravel.

Located at an altitude of 2,450 metres, the Carè Alto refuge is named after Dante Ongari (an Italian historian and engineer, president of the Society of Tridentine mountaineers from 1967 to 1969) and boasts around sixty beds. It is open from the beginning of June to the end of September and offers bar service, overnight accommodation and hot showers.

The Rifugio Mandron «Città di Trento» is located at 2,449 meters above sea level. From its terrace you can admire the majesty of the Adamello glacier. The refuge has 96 beds, six of which are located in the winter bivouac.
