The St. Lawrence Church in Kosel is a beautiful Romanesque round tower church from the 12th century. It was one of the few churches on the edge of the Via Jutlandica (Way of St. James) that was open. Pilgrims can get a stamp in their pilgrim ID card here.

However, it should be certain that it originally had no tower. It is easy to prove that the tower was subsequently added to the west gable of the nave. When this church was built is just as little known as the answer to the question of whether a wooden church previously stood on this site. Sticking with the latter, it's likely, but there's no evidence. The second half of the 12th century is assumed to be the date for the construction of the nave and the chancel of today's St. Laurentius church.
