The Keystone is a remnant of days gone by. Unfortunately, the history books are silent about the history of the place. Probably the castle was built in the second half of the 12th century and had a comparatively short life span. How the castle was destroyed exactly remains a mystery. What remains undisputed is the magnificent view of Ebermannstadt.

Hiking

A very beautiful castle ruin on a rocky spur with a summit cross and views of Ebermannstadt and the valley. The structural layout of the site, including the two dry moats, is still clearly visible. The site and its historical background are very well explained on an information panel.
