mining and caves.
On October 19, 1862, the industrialist Beel received permission in St. Aldegund to dig for copper ore here above the little saint's house on the "Kehr". The municipality reserved the right to participate appropriately in the "yield". However, the search ended in vain. Since the rock that broke out was partly interspersed with gold-colored mica, the prospecting spot was popularly known as "Goldkaul".
