Tips
The Bärentalwächter is a bit hidden in the Bärental. Coming from Krassach it is just before a crest left a steep path uphill. I recommend walking shoes and hiking sticks, you definitely need it downhill again. Little handy path

The ascent is difficult, the descent even more, but it is worth it! The gate is gigantic!

Follow the path of Bärentalwächter steeply uphill to the left. The climb is definitely worth it. I would almost say the Prebischor in Franconia.
