The classic route in the Eselsburger Valley. A very beautiful route, but it can get very crowded, especially on weekends and holidays.

      Eselsburger valley
In Herbrechtingen there is one of the most magnificent river valleys on the otherwise arid Ostalb: the Eselsburger Tal.
It is ideal for hikes, bike tours and to linger in untouched nature. The Brenz flows around the Umlaufberg Buigen (from "biegen") in a five-kilometer loop. Halfway there is the picturesque hamlet Eselsburg, after which the valley section is named. Showpieces of the local ecology are the juniper heaths, rocks and wetlands as well as the hillside forests during the heyday of Märzenbecher, Hepatica and Larksporn.

Very nice paved road along the Brenz, with beautiful rock formations and blooming meadows. Some benches for resting are situated along the street.
