The Louisa Lake (gondola pond) was created between 1893 and 1895 by the Royal Saxon Horticultural Inspector Paul Schindel from a mined mineral moor deposit. Its name goes back to Princess Louise, who married Friedrich August, heir to the Saxon throne in 1891.
Today you can rent rowing boats and water pedals here and explore the lake individually. In addition, a charming hiking trail invites you to take a romantic walk around the lake.
