In 1994, the Seebachtal Foundation was founded with the aim of preserving the natural cultural landscape in the area of the Seebachtal lakes.
Wetlands and open water areas are important habitats for rare animal and plant species. By preserving the forest pond in Hüttwilen, the livelihood of many animals and plants was preserved and secured through long-term care. Plants such as reeds, cattails and lilies grow around the pond, which depend on the moist ground. And various species of birds, insects and amphibians populate the forest pond.
