The Rotes Siel is a residential area belonging to the old harbor, which forms the approximately 300-meter-long end section of the Ems-Jade Canal in Emden. There are countless historically significant buildings here, such as the New Church, the Gödenser House or the House at the Rotes Siel - WJ Fisser. The latter enjoyed a high level of fame above all because of the wine wholesaler and liqueur factory of the W. J. Fisser company, which was founded there in 1845.
